Flotech turns on the power in Pakistan

Pioneering South Auckland based engineered solutions company Flotech have continued their string of successful international deals with a project to deliver customized fuel gas compressors for a new 300-megawatt power plant in Karachi, Pakistan.

New Zealand’s own Flotech, the smart engineered solutions company, has recently signed a contract in partnership with Greek company Metka, to build three massive fuel gas compressors for a new power plant in Karachi, Pakistan.

The NZD$300m new power plant will provide over 300 megawatts of much needed energy for Karachi citizens. Due to varying gas supply pressure, the LM6000 power plant requires customised fuel gas compressors to ensure that the power plant runs as efficiently as possible.

Director of Compression Technology Steve Rowntree said, “We are pleased to be helping to turn on the power for Karachi. With energy needs rising, and the increasing demand for more efficient energy supply, our ability to deliver unique and energy efficient engineering solutions is winning us customers from every corner of the globe.”

Rowntree added, “These three compressors are being engineered in New Zealand and assembled in Singapore, and will be installed on-site in Karachi in June this year. By the end of the year Karachi will have a more secure energy supply, thanks to Flotech”
