Hyundai Tiburon Heads will turn!

Hyundai Tiburon Heads will turn!

A rewarding car for the discerning driver, that’s Hyundai’s Tiburon. The new facelift Tiburon is now available at Hyundai dealerships nationwide.

The Tiburon has been around for more than five years now and has won many admirers, including Jeremy Clarkson of BBC’s Top Gear.

With its dynamic redesign of the front and rear ends and a sharpened appearance it’s a makeover which Hyundai is excited about. The facelift Tiburon is expected to boost sales for Hyundai, broadening interest from enthusiasts to a wider market.

The standard Tiburon is powered by a 2.0 litre 16-valve DOHC engine with CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Timing system), coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission.

For those looking for more performance and luxury to their Tiburon driving experience, there’s a 2.7-litre V6 option, complete with close-ratio six-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. This engine displaces 123 kW of power at 6,000 rpm, and a healthy 245 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 4-speed automatic with sequential sports shift (2.0 CVVT and 2.7 V6) features HIVEC (Hyundai Integrated Vehicle Electronic Control) adaptive logic, a comupterised system that learns driver’s gear shifting habits and adapts accordingly.

Designed to be sleek and elegant, the epitome of a contemporary yet practical sporting car, the Tiburon applies the same high standards to safety. Safety features include an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) on all variants, as well as four airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, and ABS braking with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BAS). All safety features are standard across the range, as is the case with the majority of today’s Hyundai line-up in New Zealand.

“Tiburon is a niche car with a committed following among those who enjoy the driving experience,” commented the Managing Director of Hyundai Automotive NZ, Philip Eustace.

“However it attracts wider interest than you might expect from a pure sports car, and it has grown in popularity over the years.

“The combination of performance, sporty looks and the practicality of a coupe make an attractive package. Reinforced by Hyundai’s commitment to quality and a huge array of safety and convenience features, the Tiburon is excellent buying from just $34,490 retail,” Mr Eustace added.
