Next Finds New Editor

Media Release

Tuesday April 24

Next Finds New Editor

ACP Magazines is delighted to announce the appointment of Brenda Ward as editor of its leading New Zealand women’s title, Next.

Currently the editor of ACP’s monthly home magazine, Your Home and Garden, Brenda will take up the Next role on the departure in June of Susannah Walker, who is returning to live in Australia.

A deputy editor of Next in the mid 90s, Brenda Ward’s journalistic and life experiences made her the ideal choice for the role, says Kirsty Cameron, Editorial Director - Women’s Lifestyle Titles.

“Brenda lives the Next life in that she is familiar with all the demands on a typical Next reader.

She’s a working mother, passionate about her family and her career and always seeking that balanced life."

As editor of Your Home and Garden since 2005, Brenda oversaw a relaunch of the magazine and won the Magazine Publishers’ Association Editor of the Year award (Home and Food) in 2006.

The magazine is again a finalist for the best magazine award in its category this year.

“I’ve always loved Next and its warmth and friendliness,” says Brenda. “Really, it will feel like coming home."

ACP Magazines will now begin recruiting for a new editor for Your Home and Garden.
