Hyundai is moving up again, this time
in reliability ratings.
The fast-rising South Korean brand is the big mover in the 2007 USA Consumers Report, just out.
Hyundai is rated seventh by the demanding American magazine, up six notches from the previous year.
That's well above all the German luxury automotive brands, direct competitors as Hyundai seeks global quality leadership.
Every single Hyundai model was rated above average, reinforcing the marquee's even quality and reliability across the range.
In a major breakthrough Hyundai's executive sedan Grandeur, marketed as Azera in the US, was named the most reliable new model.
And the popular Santa Fe SUV, the one with the cute toddler TV ad in New Zealand, was named the most impressive new model.
The survey is based on 1.3 million consumers' one-year evaluations of cars that were released in the U.S. between 1997 and 2006, and ranks models by how many problems they had.
And there's more good news for Hyundai. The brand has ranked first in the general category in a customer satisfaction report by influential U.S.-based J.D. Power Consumer Center.
