CPA Australia announces New Zealand branch President and Council members


The New Zealand Branch of CPA Australia, the largest organisation of finance, accounting and business professionals in Australasia, has appointed a new president and council members.

Chye Heng, CFO, Executive Director and Head of Legal of engineering giant Beca Group has taken over the reins of the New Zealand branch from outgoing president Judith Ray. Mr Heng has served on the New Zealand branch council previously and brings over thirty years of experience in finance and governance to the role. Himself a fellow of CPA Australia, Heng is a passionate advocate for the membership body that he sees as truly providing an alternative to modern business professionals operating in today’s global environment.

“Besides the enormous resources provided by CPA Australia to its members, my excitement for our local members is CPA Australia’s commitment to facilitating the free exchange of accounting professionals in our trans-Tasman market and enhancing the global position of our country. We are actively involved with everyone from government to academic providers to represent the interests of our members to improve and streamline the business environment,” says Heng.

“We can now boast some of New Zealand’s great financial minds amongst our council members, and CPA Australia is now positioned to be a great influential force in the wider business arena.”

Supporting Heng as members of the New Zealand branch council are many business leaders including Craig Richardson, CFO Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand and Fiji; David Searle, Partner Audit and Assurance Services, Staples Rodway; and Craig Anderson, General Manager Corporate and Specialist Risks, QBE Insurance International.

The leadership provided by the council to CPA Australia members, and the business community at large is vital to ensure that New Zealand finance professionals have a voice at the highest level in matters that affect them.

CPA Australia is the sixth largest body of financial professionals in the world and offers members access to a global marketplace with 112,000 strong member network across 98 countries.
