Ray White Opends New Office In Ruakaka

Media Release 16 May 2007

Ray White Opends New Office In Ruakaka

Leading real estate group Ray White has opened a new office in Ruakaka, to meet the roaring demand for property sparked by rapid industrial growth and increasing interest from city dwellers.

The raft of investment and development around the Northland town includes the $180 million upgrade of the Marsden Point oil refinery; the Northridge industrial centre construction; and the new, $200 million marina project.

Ray White CEO Carey Smith said the new office was needed to service the huge growth projected for Ruakaka and its surrounding areas over the next three to five years. “This is a rural area which is rapidly becoming more urban and developed, while retaining its small-town personality, so it offers the best of both worlds for people looking to move into the area.”

Mr Smith said the town’s proximity to both Auckland, a 90-minute drive away, and Whangarei was attracting new buyers. “Some are looking to invest and capitalize on the region’s growth, others are buying holiday homes, and some want to escape the big-city hustle and bustle while still being within commuting distance from Auckland.”

The past year has been a record-breaker for the Ray White Group, with sales surpassing $6 billion for the first time, on 27,000 appointments. Ray White now has 141 offices and 1,500 salespeople.

Ray White Ruakaka’s principal Brent Casey brings a decade of real estate experience, honed in the hothouse Auckland market, to the new office. He said he was motivated to move north for the same reasons as many of his clients: “Ruakaka represents the best things about New Zealand – there’s great fishing and people give you the time of day. It’s laidback and relaxed, and there are all the benefits of the big city on your doorstep.”
