Fonterra Appoints New Managing Director Fonterra Globaltrade

Fonterra Co-operative Group has appointed Kelvin Wickham to the role of Managing Director, Fonterra GlobalTrade, replacing John Shaskey who leaves the business at the end of June.

Mr Wickham is currently Director Sales and Operations Planning in Fonterra. His 18 year career in the dairy industry began when he joined the Dairy Industry Graduate Training programme after graduating with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. He has held a number of technical, sales, marketing and general management roles in the industry, including 10 years in international roles in Europe and South East Asia. In addition to his chemical engineering degree he holds a Diploma in Dairy Science & Technology and Masters Of Management.

Announcing the appointment, Fonterra CEO, Andrew Ferrier, said Mr Wickham would bring extensive sales and management experience to his new role.

"Our ability to make an internal appointment reflects the depth of experience and knowledge we have in the business at senior levels. Kelvin knows the industry from the ground up and in the course of his career has had wide exposure across the world to our markets, customers, products and their applications. He is a very welcome addition to our leadership team."

The co-operative has also announced that Director Group Manufacturing, Gary Romano, will have his responsibilities expanded to include Fonterra's supply chain which extends from its manufacturing sites to Fonterra's global markets. His new title is Director Group Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
