Be part of the engeneration!

What's engenerate? What do you do if you're an engenerator? Are you part of the engeneration?

To mark the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) Year of the Young Engineer, IPENZ will launch the "engenerate" initiative in Canterbury next Thursday 24 May 2007 at Jade Stadium, Christchurch.

The engenerate initiative puts support mechanisms around engineers who are 30 years old and younger or have less than eight years work experience.

Who is leading this nation-wide initiative? An engenerate national co-ordinator, also better known as "the engenerator", Darren Cash, Associate Director at Maunsell, Auckland.

The engenerator Darren Cash says he is pleased that the Hon Dr Nick Smith will speak at the event.

"Dr Smith is an engineer who by virtue of his experience understands the mechanics of both local and central government. However, it's his understanding of the role of engineers in New Zealand's future and the career development needs of young New Zealanders that we'll be listening to".

Host IPENZ Canterbury branch will announce engenerate events and look forward to welcoming other like-minded young engineers to join and support the engenerate initiative - be part of the engeneration.

Date: Thursday, 24 May 2007
Time: 5.30 pm, drinks and nibbles
6 pm, presentation
Venue: Nor'West Club, Hadlee Stand, Jade Stadium, Christchurch
