Standards New Zealand welcomes Minister's announcement
Standards New Zealand welcomes the outcome of the standards and conformance review announced yesterday by Lianne Dalziel at the Standards New Zealand annual sponsor forum.
"The review clearly indicated our standards and conformance infrastructure is fundamentally sound but that there is room for improvement. By getting the infrastructure in shape, we will be continuing to deliver on our commitment to supporting the development of quality regulatory frameworks and helping New Zealand businesses to become innovative, outward-looking, globally competitive firms," Lianne Dalziel said.
Chief Operating Officer, Grant Thomas, said Standards New Zealand welcomes the development of a more holistic Standards infrastructure as a result of the review. "We are looking forward to working more closely with a range of public and private sector organisations to find Standards solutions that benefit New Zealanders," says Grant Thomas.
"The review will help strengthen the impact of Standards in general, as well as enabling significant service improvements at Standards New Zealand to continue."
Standards improve safety and quality, they help prevent accidents and injuries, and they minimise the impact of disasters such as earthquakes and fires. Standards also help to protect the natural environment, and they boost economic growth and trade opportunities.
