Apparel Expert Joins PPGL Board.

The national retailer Postie Post Group Ltd (‘PPGL’) has today appointed a woman who has had an outstanding career in retailing in Britain and New Zealand, Trisha Whiting LLB, to its board of directors, Mr Peter van Rij, the chairman of PPGL announced to NZX.

“PPGL conducted an extensive search for a new director with the skill sets that the group requires as it continues to build market share,” said Mr van Rij. “Trisha Whiting is an exceptional person who will bring to the PPGL board the fresh perspectives we have been looking for with an emphasis on retail apparel expertise.”

“She has been able to develop her expertise in retail strategy within immensely successful London-based apparel retail groups.”

Trisha Whiting graduated from the University of Warwick and practised law prior to joining the Burton Group, the second largest apparel retailer in Britain.

She rose to Merchandising Director for Top Shop, a market leading main street high fashion chain which has 300 stores in Britain and 100 in Europe, and was subsequently Brand Director for the Arcadia Group fashion brand, Evans, another UK market leader with 300 stores.

Migrating to New Zealand in 2005, she has most recently assisted The Warehouse Group on strategy development. She is resident in Auckland with her New Zealand-born husband and their two young sons.

Commenting on her appointment, Trisha Whiting said, “There is a simple strategy for successful retailing – buy more bestsellers.

“I look forward to joining a public company board and, drawing from 22 years experience in retailing, contributing to the ongoing growth of Postie Plus Group.”
