Christchurch's Newest
Hotel Opens its Doors!
Hotel Ibis Christchurch, the
city's first newly built hotel in over a decade, opened its
doors today, with a special opening rate of just $99 for
every Friday and Saturday night for the first three months.
The very first guest who stays on the first night will also receive a voucher welcoming them back to the hotel on June 1st every year for five years, for one night's accommodation, plus breakfast and dinner, for two people.
Visitors to the garden city can now enjoy a brand new, value-for-money three star hotel with all the benefits of the international Ibis brand. The eight-storey, 155-room Hotel Ibis Christchurch is situated in the heart of the city on Hereford Street. Just off Cathedral Square, it is close to numerous cafes and restaurants, museums and art galleries, and some of the most popular tourist activities in Christchurch.
The hotel offers king, twin and triple accommodation, with interconnecting family rooms also available on request as well as eight disabled access rooms. The rooms include security key-card locks, individually controlled air-conditioning, refrigerator, Sky TV and in-room movies, work stations in all rooms, high speed in-room internet access and in-room safes.
Features include an on-site restaurant 'i bistro', bar and a variety of retail outlets as part of the development. Guest Services include 24-hour reception, foreign currency exchange, laundry facilities, dry cleaning services and a meeting room seating 40 people.
The hotel's General Manager Dick Breukink says the hotel's staff has worked hard to ensure that all facilities and services are fully prepared for guests and they are looking forward to welcoming both leisure and business travellers.
"The new Ibis will help satisfy the growth in demand within Christchurch and many domestic and international travellers are familiar with the brand's international reputation for good value. We believe Hotel Ibis Christchurch will be a boon for travellers and the city's tourism industry as a whole."
