Staff From ANZ National Bank Are Rolling Up Their Sleeves For Volunteer Awareness Week
This week, ANZ National Bank staff all over the country will be rolling up their sleeves and getting out into their local communities this week in recognition of Volunteer Awareness Week 2007 (17-23 June).
The Bank has initiated its own "Community Week", coinciding with the national Volunteer Awareness Week promoted by the Federation of Voluntary Welfare Organisations.
Throughout this week, bank staff, including a number of senior executives and their teams, will be taking part in a wide range of volunteer activities, including tree planting, painting Plunket family centres, spending a day with the Cancer Society's Ronald McDonald Houses and building houses for Habitat for Humanity - to name but a very few.
All Bank staff are entitled to one day of paid leave each year to help a local charity or community group of their choice.
In the 7 months of this financial year, ANZ National Bank has contributed nearly 7,500 hours of volunteer work to New Zealand communities, and that number is expected to rise dramatically after this week.
Notes to Editors and Reporters
There will be a number of local activities relating to ANZ National Bank and individual branches of ANZ and The National Bank throughout this week (Monday 18 - Friday 22 June).
