Sky Launches Crime & Investigation Network™ – Real People, Real Crime, Real Drama, 24-Hours A Day.

SKY Television today confirmed that it will launch a new channel, CRIME & INVESTIGATION NETWORK, from Sunday 2nd September 2007. Broadcast in 16:9 widescreen, CRIME & INVESTIGATION NETWORK is the ultimate destination for crime, investigation and mystery programming. The new channel will be available to all SKY digital subscribers on the basic tier Start Up package on Channel 71.

The channel opens the door to crime labs, police archives and the justice system, providing viewers a behind-the-scenes look at criminal investigations, probing unexplained mysteries and examining the lives of infamous murderers and outlaws. While police work to crack some of the world’s most fascinating crimes, viewers witness first-hand how law enforcement agencies utilise old fashioned detective work and the latest forensic investigation tools to solve cases – both old and new.

According to John Fellet, CEO, SKY Television CRIME & INVESTIGATION NETWORK will continue SKY's ongoing commitment to provide unique and exclusive television content for its subscribers. “‘Crime TV’ is a hot genre right now, and the Crime & Investigation Network will be an exciting ‘destination’ for viewers of crime programming. The channel has a solid schedule of in-depth high quality documentaries to docu-dramas and a broad range of true crime dramas,” he says.

Devised by A&E Television Networks, CRIME & INVESTIGATION NETWORK is the first 24/7 channel dedicated to crime, investigation and mystery programming. The channel is now seen in over 15 million households in 59 territories, including Australia, the US, UK, Turkey, Sth Africa, Sub Saharan Africa and Asia.

Among the programs that will air on the channel include Cold Case Files, Crime and Punishment, Final Justice, Investigative Reports, Dead Reckoning, Parole Board and LA Detectives, CRIME & INVESTIGATION NETWORK will also include acquired programs and original programming developed for the channel, such as the hit Australian crime series Crime Investigation Australia.
