Ports Of Auckland Key Appointments
Ports of Auckland announced today that it has appointed Craig Sain to the newly-created executive team position of General Manager - Sales and Marketing.
This significant appointment follows a number of recent senior role changes and key appointments at Ports of Auckland that will further bolster the Company's aim to be Australasia's premier port.
In his new role, Mr Sain will report to the Chief Executive designate Jens Madsen, and along with the General Manager - Operations and Productivity, Vic Dundas, will be jointly responsible for the Company's container division's bottom line.
Mr Sain will head up the Sales, Marketing and Logistics team, and as such will also be in charge of the Company's inland ports.
Mr Sain comes to Ports of Auckland with over 20 years experience in the shipping and port industry. He has held various senior marketing and commercial positions with Maersk, Fast Shipping, Australian National Line, Pacific Forum Line, Hapag Lloyd and Shipping Corporation New Zealand.
Ports of Auckland Chief Executive designate Jens Madsen says the appointment is a very significant one for the Port.
"Craig will be a real asset to the Company. He brings strong sales, marketing and strategic management skills, and has an impressive track record in the shipping industry," said Mr Madsen.
Mr Craig Sain said: "I am looking forward to joining the team at Ports of Auckland and focussing on delivering tailored solutions, real innovation and long term partnerships with all customers and stakeholders."
Mr Sain will take up his new role at the Port Company on 6 August 2007.
Other key
appointments
Two new senior roles have been created that
focus on further improving productivity at the Port
Company's two container terminals, Axis Fergusson and Axis
Bledisloe.
Mr Jonathan Hulme has been appointed from internally to the newly-created role of Manager Stevedoring and Mr Raoul Borley assumes the newly-created role Manager Capacity and Planning.
From 1 July Mr Borley will be responsible for managing the operational systems and structures for planning and control across both container terminals, while Mr Hulme will be responsible for managing the stevedoring operations across both terminals.
Also joining the Sales, Marketing and Logistics team and reporting to Craig Sain is Yvonne Theuerkauf, formerly the Port Company's Road Office Manager, who has been promoted to the new Logistics Manager role.
