Progressive Enterprises' Higgs Gets Scholarship

MEDIA RELEASE

20 June 2007

Progressive Enterprises acting GM of Marketing receives 2007 Nestlé Cornell Scholarship

Progressive Enterprises' Elizabeth Higgs has been selected as the 2007 recipient of the prestigious Nestlé Cornell Scholarship.

Acting GM of Marketing, Elizabeth will attend the two-week Food Executive Program at Cornell, an Ivy League University in Ithaca, New York from 9-19 July.

"I want to gain international perspectives on food retailing and look deeper into the unique complexities of the food retailing industry. Having spent many years as both a marketer and an MBA lecturer, I'm hoping to gain general food industry knowledge, as well as inspiration," says Elizabeth.

The Cornell Food Executive Programme is designed to meet the needs of tomorrow's food industry leaders. It focuses on future trends in the food industry and offers practical advice on how to capitalise on these, and is regarded as the top course of its kind internationally.

Topics covered include 'Mindless Eating', the decision-making process in how we eat and 'Raving Fans', an insight into taking greater leadership for customer advocacy issues within businesses.

"The Cornell Scholarship offers the opportunity to bring world-class food industry knowledge to New Zealand and Nestlé is pleased to have had an 11-year involvement with the Cornell programme. As Nestlé celebrates its 122nd year of being in New Zealand, we are delighted that we can continue to contribute strongly to local industry expertise."
