More sites released at Millbrook West

Media release from Millbrook Resort 4 July 2007

More sites released at Millbrook West

Five-star Millbrook Resort in Queenstown has announced that nine more exclusive Millbrook West residential building sites are to be released to Millbrook Country Club members this week.

The Stage 1B sites release follows the success of the Stage 1A release where all 16 sites were sold to existing Millbrook members for a total of $19.8m within a few weeks of the close date.

With this release, Millbrook members will have a three week exclusive period to buy the nine sites, which range from 1,560m2 to 3,100m2.

“Given the buyer pre-sale registration for these sites, we are hopeful they will sell out quickly again,” said Millbrook Property and Development Manager Ben O’Malley.

“People have joined the country club ahead of the release just to be included in this members’ privilege.”

Millbrook Property Sales manager Austin Bragg said Millbrook developments and housing continue to sell well in the face of easing demand elsewhere in the basin.

“In the first nine months of Millbrook's financial year there has been $33m of property sold at the resort, compared to $34.3 for the full 12 months of the 2005-6 year,” he said.

“The nine sections being released will be the last 'land only' sites released for some time at Millbrook,” said Mr O’Malley.

“Millbrook's next releases will all be house and land packages, the first of which will be 13 mews cottages at Coronet Square.”

Construction of the Millbrook West development is due to start this month (July), meaning New Zealand’s original premier lifestyle resort is underway with the half billion dollar, 200-plus home housing development it announced a year ago.

The first stage will consist of 59 sites, a new nine-hole golf course designed by New Zealand golf legend Greg Turner, and a new driving range.

The building sites are all on sunny, elevated North-facing slopes overlooking the new and existing golf courses, some with views of Lake Hayes, and all with views to Coronet Peak, the Crown Range or The Remarkables mountain ranges.

Millbrook has strict design controls in place on the land to ensure consistent high standards of style and design for developments at the resort.
