BNZ Weekly Overview - July 5 2007

Welcome to the July 5 edition of the BNZ Weekly Overview.

This week we are once again running our monthly survey of your confidence about the economy over the next 12 months. If time permits please click on the URL below and let us know whether you think the economy is going to get better or worse in the coming year. More importantly if you've got the time let us know what your industry is and then let us know how things seem to be in that industry at the moment. The results will be collated and released early next week.

Wholesale interest rates have sat unchanged practically all week but the Kiwi dollar has risen almost two cents against the greenback with some weakness in the USD plus continuing very strong interest from foreign investors in New Zealand's high interest rates.

Best regards
