Retail magazine wins again
New Zealand Retail (NZRetail), the much acclaimed and valued magazine published for the New Zealand Retailers Association by award-winning publishers Jones Publishing, has won a number of TABBIE international awards for the third year in succession.
The annual Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABBIES) 2007 Awards attracted in excess of 700 entries from all over the world and NZRetail won in each of the four main categories – in fact, it won an award in every category it entered.
Editor Trudy Cliff says, "It is extremely rewarding to have the publication consistently recognised as a winner, especially in the face of the international competition. NZRetail has possibly the smallest circulation of any of the entrants but it has still managed to hold its own in a strong international field."
The 2007 TABBIES awarded to NZRetail are:
- Bronze award for the Table of Contents category;
- Honourable mention for the Feature Article category (5th);
- Honourable mention for the Front Cover Photography category (5th);
- Honourable mention for the Best Single Issue category (9th); and
- Honourable mention for the Opening Page or Spread category (23rd).
The organisers said, "With more than 700 editorial and design entries from across the globe, your winning is certainly an impressive achievement, one that your whole publication should take pride in. NZRetail is one of only 17 magazines that won four or more awards."
New Zealand Retailers Association CEO John Albertson says, "The editor set a tough benchmark with the 2005 TABBIE Awards and has upped the ante by improving on it every year. We couldn't be more proud of our internationally recognised publication."
Earlier this year, the magazine was a finalist in four categories of the New Zealand Magazine Publishers Association's Awards.
