The Sunday Night Movie -- Sundays At 8.30pm On C4

THE SUNDAY NIGHT MOVIE - Every Sunday at 8.30pm on C4

Last weekend we kicked off the Sunday Night Movie with This is Spinal Tap, and from here on every single Sunday night make an appointment in front of the telly - C4 to be exact at 8.30pm.

Next Sunday (July 15th) we check out Human Traffic - the movie of the rave generation focusing on 5 Cardiff friends "livin it large" over the course of a weekend in a haze of music, clubs and drug-fuelled debauchery Jip (John Simm) works at a shop selling jeans, and his best friend Koop (Shaun Parkes) is an aspiring hip-hop artist who has a day job at a record store. Nina (Nicola Reynolds), Koop's girlfriend, is employed at a burger joint; her best friend is Lulu (Lorraine Pilkington), who has a uniformly low opinion of men. Moff (Danny Dyer) is a waste-case who lives with his father and deals drugs to the group. Come Friday evening, the six friends head out to the club, and they spend the next 48 hours playing the popular game "Annihilate This Week."

Sunday July 22nd we present the undeniable cult classic of the nineties Reality Bites starring Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke and Ben Stiller. Lelaina, the valedictorian of her college class, camcords her friends in a mock documentary of posteducation life. Troy is her best friend, a perpetually unemployed musical slacker. Vickie is a manager at the Gap who worries about the results of an AIDS test, while Sammy has problems grappling with his sexuality. When Lelaina meets Michael, an earnest video executive who takes her homemade video to his TV station, she must decide what she values--the materialism of yuppie Michael or the philosophical musings of Troy. Through this film she faces the big cruel world of adulthood lurking ahead.

On Sunday July 29th Val Kilmer stars as Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's electrifying profile of The Doors, which takes the group from its inception to its demise with the death of the "Lizard King" in a Paris hotel room in 1971. And, keeping with the theme of legendary rock stars - the following weekend - Sunday August 5th - the Sunday Night Movie is Sid & Nancy - the tale of The Sex Pistol's Sid Vicious and his doomed relationship with girlfriend / groupie Nancy Spungen.

Loads more can't miss movies are scheduled for August through to the end of the year, so watch this space! Graphics and screeners available, please just let me know.
