Millbrook Resort Named Official Hotel

Queenstown’s five-star Millbrook Resort has been announced as the official hotel of the Michael Hill New Zealand Open Golf Championship, being held at The Hills Course, between 29 November and 2 December 2007 in Arrowtown.

Millbrook General Manager Jan Hunt said the resort had made a “significant investment in the Open”, which it had been working on for some time.

“This is a huge event which will attract international golfers, media and visitors from around the world, and the facilities and infrastructure at Millbrook are an essential element to the staging of the Open.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be appointed as the Open official hotel and to drive this partnership forward to deliver a world class event.”

Millbrook will host a number of players at the resort in the build up to and during the Open and also host the final qualifying tournament for the Open on Tuesday 27 November.

“As a result, guests and visitors can expect to see some top players at Millbrook in the week leading up to the Open,” said Ms Hunt.

“Millbrook will definitely be looking its best for the Open, thanks to planned investment in course enhancements over the next few months.”

Millbrook accommodation bookings for the general public have been on hold since the Open announcement was made, as Millbrook assessed the requirements of Open organisers.

Bookings can now be made, and guests will be able to access in-house golf privileges such as golf at $75 per round.

Ms Hunt said accommodation during this time was expected to be at a premium, and advised people to book soon.
