Chris Alpe to Join CER Board
Statement made by Dr Wayne Cartwright, Chairman, CER Group Limited
Prominent businessman, investor and director, Chris
Alpe, has accepted an invitation to become a director of
publicly listed company, the CER Group Limited.
CER Group currently comprises two operating businesses, Certified Organics, which develops and markets natural plant extract-based products for use in a variety of agricultural and bio security control applications; and New Zealand Nature, an international multi-channel retailer.
CER Group is currently in the process of acquiring the Australian based Vital Resource Management Group of Companies, which develops and markets specialist environmentally-sustainable probiotic products used in such applications as enhancement of fertilisers and treatment of waste water. This acquisition is subject to the completion of ongoing due diligence that is satisfactory to the Board of CER.
Chris is a respected business leader, having founded Maui Campervans in the early 1980s, becoming an executive director of Tourism Holdings Limited (THL) when it acquired his business. He later specialised in acquiring tourism assets for THL on becoming a non executive director.
In addition to applying his years of business expertise to the company's affairs, Chris will add vast experience in identifying and acquiring compatible businesses as we focus on creating wealth for shareholders through organic growth of existing businesses and acquisition of further, complementary businesses.
Chris is currently Chairman of the Auckland Festival Trust, and a director of Canterbury of NZ, I-Cap and AJ Hacket. He has also served as Chairman of Tasman Agriculture and Espace Clothing.
Rodney Innes, founder of the Certified Organics business and marketing specialist Steve Bridges have retired as directors. The company values the expertise of both and will retain access to their services through consulting relationships with the operating businesses.
