New Chief Executive for TBC

MEDIA RELEASE 2 August 2007

New Chief Executive for TBC

The Television Broadcasters’ Council (TBC) has appointed Justine Wilkinson as Chief Executive.

The TBC is an independent industry organisation representing New Zealand’s key free-to-air television broadcasters: TVWorks (TV3 and C4), TVNZ (TV One and TV2) and Maori Television (MTS).

Ms Wilkinson will be leading the organisation to work on industry issues common to all the members, and to work with appropriate industry stakeholders and organisations on relevant issues.

Announcing the appointment, TBC chair Brent Impey commented: “Justine is a great appointment for this key role. She brings a passion for media, along with a very solid career background in broadcasting and finance, to the job. Justine has impeccable credentials and her substantial experience at NZ On Air and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage will be invaluable for the TBC,” Mr Impey said.

Justine Wilkinson is ready for her new challenge.

“I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work on projects that support free TV – a medium that is important to all New Zealanders and is currently experiencing exciting change,” she said.
