Auckland Racing Club Marketing Award Victory
Auckland Racing Club celebrates Marketing Award
victory
The Auckland Racing Club was awarded best
Marketing Team of the Year at the annual Sales & Marketing
Institute of New Zealand Awards held last night in
Auckland.
The award was in recognition of the
marketing strategies and programmes put in place over the
past two years to reinvigorate the image of racing and to
revitalise Ellerslie as a vibrant entertainment venue. The
judges recognised outstanding efforts in the growth of
Lindauer Melbourne Cup Day, the innovative Lindauer Twilight
Summer Series, sustained growth of the New Zealand Herald
Christmas Carnival, the success of the inaugural Chinese New
Year raceday and the strong growth of Auckland Cup
Week.
“Auckland Racing Club is delighted to
receive this award and it is fantastic recognition for our
marketing team lead by Marketing Director, Rachel Holland”
said Auckland Racing Club CEO, Chris Weaver. “To be judged
as New Zealand’s leading Marketing Team is a great tribute
to everyone’s hard work to achieve the vision we have for
Ellerslie.”
“This is the second year in a row
that we have received a marketing award and to be recognised
by industry peers who understand the effort required to win
is exceptional. The results speak for themselves and the
team’s innovative approach to marketing has convinced a
younger female orientated audience to take a fresh look at
racing at Ellerslie,” continues Mr Weaver.
Today
Ellerslie is consistently patronised by a new breed of race
attendees. Of those who attended Auckland Cup Week 2007, 46%
were first time racegoers, and of these 74% said that they
would return to Ellerslie. This research supports the
Club’s objectives of getting new racegoers on-course and
turning them into repeat attendees.
The Sales &
Marketing Institute of New Zealand present their annual
awards in eight separate categories from nominations
received from organisations throughout the country. The
Awards recognise outstanding professional excellence in the
fields of sales and marketing and are voted on by a judging
panel overseen by the Sales & Marketing Institute
Board.
