Bakers Delight in the pink for charity
Kiwis are about to get a chance to treat themselves to a childhood favourite and raise money for a cancer charity at the same time - all for just $1.50.
Bakers Delight will sell pink finger buns - complete with 100s and 1000s - to raise thousands of dollars for the Look Good Feel Better cancer charity during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
In a week-long campaign from 11-17 October, Bakers Delight stores will donate $1 of every pink finger bun sold to Look Good Feel Better. Customers can give even more to this important cause through in-store donation tins.
Each year more than 2000 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Look Good Feel Better is a free national service that supports women being treated for all types of cancer and helps them feel better by looking good.
At special makeover workshops throughout New Zealand hair and makeup experts donate their time to give women with cancer guidance. The women not only get a brand new look, but learn how to do it themselves at home.
Yvonne Brownlee, general manager of Look Good Feel Better is thrilled Bakers Delight is supporting the charity with this campaign.
“Look Good Feel Better is all about helping women with cancer feel better about themselves. Sometimes we all need a treat to help us feel better, and a pink finger bun every now and then can be a special pick-me-up.
“Through this campaign it can also raise thousands of dollars to help those women with cancer feel better.”
Proceeds from the sales of Bakers Delight pink buns during the campaign will help fund the Look Good Feel Better workshops, giving cancer patients greater confidence and a renewed sense of self.
Bakers Delight has 22 Auckland and five Christchurch stores, as well as bakeries in Hamilton, Hastings, Mt Manganui, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, and Lower Hutt.
“This campaign offers Kiwis a great chance to indulge themselves with an inexpensive treat that will also help thousands of New Zealand women feel better at a difficult time in their lives,” says Ms Brownlee.
