3 Bald Men Acknowledged For NZ Hotel Design Work

3 Bald Men acknowledged for 'Champion' Hotel Design work in NZ

Bald men Steve Small, Neville Winter, Wayne Hobbs and Bruce Mansfield (not quite so bald) are still celebrating this morning, having been acknowledged as Runner Up in the 'Champion Service / Retail Small Enterprise' segment of the annual Champion Canterbury Awards, held in last night.

The Awards, a glitzy affair held at the Christchurch Convention Centre, saw some of New Zealand's most talented business people battle it out across seven categories, which included 'Champion Producer', 'Champion Host' and 'Champion Global Operator'.

In its 5th year, the Champion Canterbury Awards celebrate the excellence, passion and success of business in the Canterbury Region. The Awards region is defined by the Canterbury Regional Council boundaries, which includes ten District Councils and the Christchurch City Council.

3 Bald Men, a hotel & club design & refurbishment company that caters to both the New Zealand and Australian markets, was narrowly beaten to the finish line by category competitors Canterprise Limited.

Specialising in creating themed environments, 3 Bald Men brings a unique understanding of the hospitality and construction industries together, in order to produce venues of the highest quality, within budget and on time. Major works include the Speights Ale Houses at Tower Junction, Invercargill and Petone, the James Squire Brewhouse at King Street Wharf, and the North Ballarat Sports Club.

With projects ranging from the thousands (a small bar renovation) to the millions (a complete venue design & fit-out), the 3 Bald Men pride themselves on being able to tackle and create the un-creatable.

"As far as themeing goes, we believe nothing is impossible. Creativity is at the essence of our company, however, we are able to match our ideas with the functionality that is required for running a successful hospitality venue" says Australian Bruce Mansfield.

"And it was wonderful to be acknowledged for our efforts, at the Champion Canterbury Awards" states New Zealand Director, Steve Small. "However, we unanimously agree that we love our jobs, and doing what we love everyday does not seem like an effort at all!"
