Steve Williams took time between engagements in Atlanta and LA this week to show the crew of the Speight’s Great Beer Delivery the sights of New York and to give them a few tips on their golf swing.

Williams met the crew in New York City fresh from Tiger Woods’ $11m win in the Tour Championship at East Lakes Golf Club in Atlanta. He and the crew spent the day visiting the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and at Randalls Island driving range in Upper Manhattan where Williams gave them some coaching.

Recalling the experience, crew member Mark Wilson said, “Everyone who has seen me play golf knows that my technique, accuracy and etiquette are not my strong points and probably contributed to me losing nine balls at Millbrook on my last attempt. Steve looked on in amusement as I took a couple of Happy Gilmore swings that sprayed off wildly, but a few patient tips on my grip and at least I was hitting straight.”

While in New York the crew also took in a Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, a Yankees game, and hosted grateful ex-pats and converted locals at a Speight's party. One guest, John Speight who believes he is an ancestor of Speight's brewery founder James Speight, travelled from Washington DC to attend.

The Speight’s Great Beer Delivery crew departed New York on their final leg to London on Wednesday morning (NY time). The last leg is expected to take two and a half weeks with the Alehouse arriving at Canary Wharf in London on 8 October. A large ex-pat reception is planned to meet the crew.
