Trade Me Launches New Cars
Trade Me today entered the new car market with a major addition to the Trade Me Motors website that has a strong environmental emphasis.
Aiming to be the starting point for people wanting to buy a new car, Trade Me now lets New Zealanders research over 1400 new cars – from a $14,000 Suzuki to a $280,000 Porsche.
“Last year we facilitated the sale of over 117,000 used cars, or about one every five minutes. We’re the number one place that Kiwis look for used cars and want to repeat that success in the new car market,” said Trade Me founder, Sam Morgan.
“By providing new car information, side-by-side within Trade Me Motors, consumers have all the information they need to make the best decision”
Consumers can browse or search by make and model or by vehicle type, comparing 28 different variables including carbon footprint, fuel efficiency and crash test rating. Up to 20 cars can be compared at once.
“Once the consumer has found the car for them, they can book a test-drive with their local dealer.”
As well as in-depth environmental and safety information, the new site also connects to car reviews and reliability information.
“We built the site for everyday Kiwis more than for car enthusiasts because everyone seems to need a car, but not everyone wants to be an expert.”
“We’re proud of what we have built, but we always get frank customer feedback about our sites once we launch, so we expect the site to evolve in coming weeks and months.”
Trade Me Motors has five times more visitors than all other local automotive websites combined and follows the recent release of Trade Me’s tourism website, Travelbug.
