BRANZ Weathertightness Seminars For Builders


BRANZ Weathertightness Seminars aimed at Builders

BRANZ is to host a series of educational seminars entitled, Shortening the Odds - reducing your building risk at 22 centres around the country on various dates during November and December this year, and in March next year.

These seminars are to be delivered by experienced presenters Greg Burn and Trevor Pringle.

The seminar material will focus on practical building techniques for achieving weathertight construction, using a range of products. The discussion will include identifying how moisture gets into buildings and highlight the issues around moisture damage. The seminars also cover how effective communication with building officials and designers might be established or improved.

Solutions for a number of priority construction areas will be covered. These include:

* Decks
* Parapets and balustrades
* Windows
* Penetrations
* Drained cavities
* Cladding types - associated risks and installation tips
