Exclusive Petrol Offer For Woolworths Shoppers

News Release 10 October 2007

Exclusive Petrol Offer For Woolworths Shoppers To Apologise For Systems Error

Woolworths customers will be offered an exclusive fuel discount on Sunday 14 th October 2007 to apologise for a systems error that occurred during a recent petrol promotion.

Woolworths shoppers that spend $50 or more on groceries will receive a fuel discount voucher offering ten cents per litre off fuel purchases at any Shell or Gull service station. The fuel discount voucher will automatically print on the bottom of customers’ checkout receipt.

Why is it exclusive to Woolworths shoppers?

In a petrol promotion run across all Progressive Enterprises stores (Foodtown, Countdown and Woolworths) on Sunday 30 th September, fuel discount vouchers did not print automatically in Woolworths stores due to a systems error.

The offer was honoured, however the company wants to go the extra mile in acknowledging the error.

“The Woolworths team wants to offer customers an exclusive discount to apologise for the inconvenience caused. To do our utmost to ensure that all Woolworths customers have the opportunity to benefit from this significant discount, we have also reduced the spend required,” said Peter Smith, Managing Director Progressive Enterprises.

In the original offer, customers received ten cents off per litre by spending $70 or more on groceries. For this Sunday only (14 October 2007), Woolworths customers need only spend $50 to receive the same fuel discount.

Woolworths invites customers to shop this Sunday at any of its stores nationwide and receive this exclusive fuel discount.
