Ogilvy Makes the Spotlight at Effies
Ogilvy Makes the Spotlight at Effies
Ogilvy
triumphed at the annual Effie Awards in Auckland last night,
fronting up for the prestigious Best in Show Award and
walking away with no less than three gongs to round off a
stellar night for the agency.
Rabobank took Best in
Show for its winning “customers’ significant other
bank” campaign, while sweeping gold in the New
Product/Service Introduction Category. The awards come after
a powerfully successful 18 months for Rabobank, who have
attracted deposits in excess of $1.3 billion as a
consequence of the clearly differentiated positioning the
campaign achieved for this client.
Kiwibank and
House of Travel were also on the honours list, Kiwibank
collecting silver in the Consumer Services Category, while
House of Travel picked up silver in the Retail/Etail
Category.
Ogilvy Executive Creative Directors Roy
Meares and Jeremy Taine are delighted with last nights
result, affirming the significant role awards nights like
these plays toward raising the standards of the advertising
and communications industries.
Says Roy
Meares:
“At the end of the day, producing work that
delivers these kind of results is our reason for being. For
that matter, it’s the whole purpose of our industry. If we
don’t produce these results we are short-changing our
clients, it’s as simple as that.
“But just as
importantly, it makes the whole process so much more fun and
rewarding our clients and everyone in the agency. We’re
thrilled with the result.”
Ogilvy Managing Director, Greg Partington is equally proud,
“This is an outstanding achievement for our clients and for all of us at Ogilvy. The awards are fitting reward for a great deal of hard work over the last couple of years. I’m enormously proud of the strategic and creative teams that worked on RaboPlus, Kiwibank and House of Travel. 8 entries,7 finalists,4 medals,2 silvers,1 gold and 1 Best in Show – quite a haul.”
