PlunketLine comes out tops

PlunketLine IS engineer, Colleen Crombie, was awarded the ‘Technical Person of the Year’ award at the annual Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand (TUANZ) Innovation Awards in Auckland on Thursday night.

PlunketLine, Plunket’s free telephone advice service, was moved in-house earlier this year after the Government ceased funding to the service in 2006.

The TUANZ judges said they were impressed with the way that the implementation (of PlunketLine) progressed with the least disruption and with a high level of service maintenance to all the other users.

“It’s so great to receive recognition for myself and PlunketLine. We provide such amazing services at Plunket and we all work so hard, so this award makes me feel that people out there really appreciate what we are doing”, says Colleen.

Colleen was nominated for the award by PlunketLine Manager, Elaine Macfarlane and Clinical Leader, Anne-Marie Morris to acknowledge the outstanding contribution she has brought to PlunketLine.

“Colleen’s support and expertise is one reason PlunketLine has been able to demonstrate considerable improvements over 2007’, says Anne Marie. A sentiment that is shared by fellow PlunketLine staff and colleagues at Plunket.

PlunketLine’s technology vendors Connect and Agile kindly sponsored the air fares and tickets to the Black Tie event. They were also instrumental in the successful transition of PlunketLine moving in-house.
