Wormwise workshops continue through New Zealand
A number of Wormwise Workshops are planned around the country over the next six weeks.
The workshops highlight practical worm management techniques in a forum facilitated by two vets, Lab Wilson and Lindsay McKnight.
“The farmers coming to the workshops are being challenged to think more about worm management and can see the benefits in doing so – not only for sustainability but also for productivity,” says Lab Wilson.
“They are coming away with more confidence in their worm management decisions and are enjoying the opportunity to share each other’s thoughts and ideas.”
Sixteen workshops have already been held and the following are planned before the end of the year. They are:-
Huntly 6 November, Te Akau 7 November, Te Mata 8 November, Gore 12 November, Gore 13 November, Winton 14 November, Winton 15 November, Balclutha 16 November, Dannevirke 20 November, Waipukurau 21 November, Raetihi 26 November, North Taranaki 27 November, Piopio 28 November, Marlborough 3 December, North Canterbury 4 December, Mid Canterbury 5 December.
To register interest in the workshops call 0800 GO WORM (0800 469 676).
The workshops are part of the National Wormwise Management Strategy which is a joint initiative between Meat & Wool New Zealand, the MAF Sustainable Farming Fund, Agcarm, the New Zealand Veterinary Association and the Animal Remedy and Plant Protectant Association.
