General Cable NZ Ltd Makes Key Appointments
General Cable New Zealand has made a number of business development appointments to consolidate its position as market leader in the energy, electrical, telecommunications and specialist cable sector.
Nicola Roberts has joined the company as National Key Account Manager (Powerbase), a role dedicated to servicing the Powerbase group of companies. A 20-year veteran of the cable industry, Roberts will work with the group at the head office levels nationally and assist local General Cable Regional Account Managers as required.
Meanwhile Matt Sheehy, formerly with General Cable’s Industrial Business Unit, moves into a new role as National Key Account Manager (Redeal). His key function is to support the Redeal wholesale companies, Ideal and Rexel. He will be working mainly at a national level but will also support some wholesalers north of Taupo.
John Hadjis joins General Cable as Regional Account Manager (Industrial) working with industrial clients throughout the South Island. He was formerly a business development manager for Tait Radio Communications, with responsibility for the Indian sub continent, and has held key management positions with Invensys Energy Systems and Dynamic Controls.
GCNZ General Manager Andy Lester says the appointments reflect a commitment to maintain the company’s dominant position in its core energy and telecommunications markets. “We’ve achieved some good growth in both our export and domestic business, with strong sales into the telecommunications and energy sectors. These appointments will drive our performance forward with a superior level of service, flexibility and support to our clients.”
