Providers signing on for PURE LUXURY NZ 08

Luxury tourism providers signing on for PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008

Luxury tourism experience providers have begun to sign on for PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008 since registrations for the exclusive event opened on 31 October.

The business-to-business trade show will take place in Queenstown at the brand-new Commonage Villas on 21-23 May 2008, and will showcase the best travel products and experiences New Zealand has to offer discerning international travellers.

There has been wide support for the decision to make Queenstown the venue for PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008, Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) Chief Executive Fiona Luhrs says.

“There is an instant appeal about Queenstown for both local Exhibitors and international Buyers. While there are wonderful venues and spectacular opportunities in every region of the country, there is little doubt that Queenstown has the infrastructure and Queenstown luxury operators have the experience to help make PURE LUXURY New Zealand a truly spectacular event for Exhibitors and Buyers alike in 2008.”

Ms Luhrs also notes that preliminary investigation into Buyer selection for the event reveals a greater breadth and depth of new Buyers than anticipated.

“We clearly want to attract as many new, quality international Buyers of luxury travel as possible. We are working with some of the country’s best marketers and operators to ensure PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008 presents a compelling line-up of top end holiday options.”

The focus for Exhibitor selection is on luxury experiences that are new. Buyers are always interested in the very latest products as they are seeking new revenue streams and competitive advantage, Ms Luhrs says.

“We’ll be looking for:

  • new luxury accommodation and experience providers who are in the early stages of making their mark in the New Zealand luxury sector, and
  • established luxury sector operators who have expanded, upgraded or enhanced their offering in a significant way.”

PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008 will bring 45 Buyers specialising in luxury travel together with the same number of New Zealand’s best accommodation, transport and activity operators. Ms Luhrs says it is very important that everyone understands what ‘luxury’ actually means.

“PURE LUXURY New Zealand is about the very best. It’s not simply about five star service and facilities – it’s also about operators who are passionate about sharing world class, highly customised and personalised New Zealand experiences with their guests.”

PURE LUXURY New Zealand 2008 is managed by TIA as agent of the Tourism Industry New Zealand Trust and in partnership with Air New Zealand, Qantas and Tourism New Zealand.
