Tourism Holdings Limited Appointment of Director - Graeme Wong

Mr Keith Smith, Chairman of Tourism Holdings, announced today the appointment of Mr Graeme Wong as a Director of the company. Graeme graduated from Victoria University with a BCA(Hons) and has since worked for 29 years in the financial and investment markets. He spent six years in stockbroking, two years establishing the New Zealand Futures Exchange and 12 years as the New Zealand Investment Manager for Brierley Investments Limited.

He subsequently founded and became Executive Chairman of Southern Capital Limited, an investment company listed on New Zealand Exchange and focusing on property and equity investment. Southern Capital evolved into Hirequip New Zealand Limited, the largest general equipment hire firm in New Zealand, with 55 branches throughout the country. The business was recently sold to private equity interests. Graeme is currently Chairman of Clocktower Games Limited, which is producing a computer video game for international distribution utilising new technology to create photo-real 3D graphics.

Graeme's previous directorships include Sealord Group Limited, Tasman Agriculture Limited, Magnum Corporation Limited (now DB Group Limited), and At Work Insurance (the State Owned Enterprise formed by the previous National Government to insure workplace accidents). He was also, for nine years, an Alternate Director of Air New Zealand Limited. He is also a member of the Management Board of Samuel Marsden Collegiate School.

“Mr Wong brings to the board his wide range of strategic and operational management skills. We are delighted that he has accepted the invitation to join the THL Board,” Mr Smith said.
