Lingerie by Far the Most Desirable Gift this Christmas

Whether she’s been naughty or nice, it has been revealed that lingerie is top of most Kiwi women’s Christmas wish lists, in a recent Bendon Desirability Survey [The Bendon Desirability Survey ran between 6 August – 24 August 2007 on the Bendon website and through the database, with 2368 respondents.].

Intimate apparel took out the vote as the most desired gift with 57% choosing lingerie over other gifts including perfume, flowers, manicures and foot massagers.

The survey also exposed that Kiwi girls are in dire need of lingerie as the most common reason, at 29%, for buying new underwear was that their underwear had worn out and developed holes.

“We were quite shocked that a third of the respondents admitted that they are wearing holey underwear,” says Bendon Marketing Manager Carol Riley.

“The Bendon Desirability Survey proves that Kiwi women are crying out for lingerie this Christmas and it’s a gift they certainly deserve.”

Riley says it is easy to purchase lingerie for your loved one. She says simply sneak a peek into her lingerie drawer, jot down her bra and brief size and go into a Bendon stockist. Riley’s top tip for risk free lingerie purchasing is to always get an exchange card.

Other popular gifts that Kiwi women desired included having the house cleaned, a sleep in, a candlelit dinner and a childless weekend away.

Only 5% of respondents admitted buying lingerie to ‘spice up their sex lives’ with 31% claiming the g-string was the underwear that guys found most appealing on them. This was followed by bikini briefs at 20% and no underwear at all at 16%. But beware; the worst lingerie crime was overwhelmingly identified as the g-string showing over the top of pants.
