December full program of PD events for recruiters

3 December 2007

MEDIA RELEASE

December heralds full program of PD events for NZ recruiters

Harnessing technology, coping with holiday payroll headaches and adapting to the new KiwiSaver rules are just some of the topics to be covered in December events by the peak body for recruitment in New Zealand.

The December line-up of RCSA (Recruitment and Consulting Services Association) events encourages recruitment professionals to make the most of the pre-holiday season by getting on top of the defining issues for next year.

A two-part briefing on KiwiSaver and the Public Holidays Act, presented on December 14 by Sasha Grujic and Andrew McComish MRCSA, will provide insight into how people are managing KiwiSaver so far and how best to manage the Public Holiday payroll mayhem which is about to begin.

“Some common questions keep arising regarding KiwiSaver, and we will address these in the session. It will also look at how to move KiwiSaver from an obligation to an employee benefit, so recruiters can start giving some thought to the opportunities that will arise after 1 April 2008,” said Ms Jacqui Barratt MRCSA Region President of RCSA NZ.

The session on ‘Public Holiday Payroll Mayhem’ will provide both a practical and legal look at an Agency’s obligations in the upcoming months, when they need to deal with the complexities of holiday pay.

A popular series of Technology Breakfasts will also be held around the country, with the intriguing title “Jurassic Park, Star Wars and FaceBook: What Message Do They Have for Recruiters?”. Craig Schuetrumpf, one of the founders of the groundbreaking Postjobsonce service, will present the sessions in Auckland (Dec 5), Wellington (Dec 6), and Christchurch (Dec 7).

“Craig challenges current advertising and recruiting strategies by demonstrating the collision of the internet, graphics and video and how these have transformed the online space - especially how we appear to the future generation of job seekers,”Ms Barratt said.
