Dairy Farm Owners Benefit from Awards

Dairy Farm Owners Benefit from Awards

It’s not just the entrants who benefit from taking part in the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards.

Chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards management committee Greg Maughan says farm owners also reap rewards from their sharemilkers and farm managers taking part.

Farm owner permission is a requirement for entrants and Greg says it’s in farm owners’ interests to actively encourage participation.

“Taking part in the awards builds confidence, increases skills, helps farm managers and sharemilkers develop important networks that can of huge value to the farm on which they work. Why wouldn’t you support someone’s participation?”

Greg says if any farm owners’ managers or sharemilkers are thinking about entering they need to act quickly.

Entries close in the three categories on December 20 which for the first time will feature all three tiers in all 12 regional events the awards comprise.

The awards are supported by Westpac, Dairy NZ, Fonterra, RD1, LIC, Meridian Energy, Ravensdown, Ecolab, Federated Farmers, and Blue Wing Honda, along with industry partner Agriculture ITO.
