Crowne Plaza Queenstown ends the year on a high
Crowne Plaza Queenstown is ending 2007 on an award-winning high celebrating the hotel’s success at the New Zealand Institute of Architects Resene Awards for Architecture last month.
Crowne Plaza Queenstown architects, Dalman Architecture, was awarded the Southern Local Award for the design of the hotel’s recent upgrade. The award recognises quality new architecture at a community level.
The addition to Crowne Plaza Queenstown’s street frontage and the rejuvenation of the entry foyer of the iconic 1970s hotel complex has created a positive urban presence, while an enticing modern restaurant allows patrons to be entertained and engage with the street edge.
This achievement follows a series of other recent accolades which saw the hotel named a finalist in the Spatial Design category at the Design Institute of New Zealand’s BeST awards and threesixty restaurant win the Excellence in Hospitality at the Queenstown Business Excellence Awards last month.
Hotel General Manager Brett Wilson said he was thrilled to see the hotel recognised as a leader in its field.
“After eighteen months of remodelling, rebranding and repositioning ourselves within the marketplace, it’s with pride that the hotel has been recognised in this way. It’s now time to celebrate our success.”
