AA Continues To Maintain Roadservice for Members Despite Strike
“The AA is pleased that it continues to maintain roadservice for its Members throughout New Zealand, despite the current strike,” says AA spokesperson Simon Lambourne.
Yesterday, Monday 17 December, the AA attended 1,222 roadservice breakdowns. 58% of them were responded to within 30 minutes and 87% were responded to within an hour.
“The AA has been able to continue those positive response rates today, although late this afternoon additional delays have been experienced in some areas due to bad weather and higher than usual call volumes.”
Mr Lambourne says the AA looks forward to meeting the union in negotiations tomorrow morning and hopes the strike can be resolved.
“A resolution is in the best interests of all parties, and our Members.”
The main sticking point remains the union’s claim for six weeks leave which the AA has rejected. The other issues for discussion are the offer of a 3.6% wage rise and the question of pay parity across the country.
