ASB To Sponsor Sunrise Business Briefs

ASB has joined forces with TV3 on its Sunrise breakfast programme as the exclusive sponsor of the show’s dedicated business section.

From Monday, January 28, Sunrise’s business segment will be known as ASB Business.

The business component of Sunrise has been bolstered with highly respected business journalist Michael Wilson joining the Sunrise team, which includes his former producer from TVNZ, Liz Kirschberg.

ASB Head of Marketing, Jonathan Symons, says aligning ASB with Sunrise’s new Business section was a logical commercial step.

“ASB has been a strong supporter of New Zealand business television as we understand the value this medium has for the local business community. We have a high level of respect for the experienced team behind TV3’s ASB Business and have enjoyed a long relationship with several key players in this team.

Both ASB and TV3 view online delivery of news as critical in the modern media environment. Links to the ASB TV3 weekly sharemarket updates are currently sent out with ASB’s daily ‘Morning Brief’ and further initiatives to deliver up to date business news on ASB websites are planned.

“We were particularly impressed by the innovation Sunrise demonstrates when connecting its business programme to the wider online business audience, and we want to help facilitate that connection”.

TV3’s Director of News and Current Affairs, Mark Jennings, says ASB’s sponsorship is the first of its kind for the Sunrise programme.

“TV3 already has a strong relationship with ASB with the ASB Securities live crosses on Sunrise and the 6pm News. This sponsorship signals an increasingly important partnership with ASB and fully complements Sunrise’s business section.”
