Cuisine magazine grows penetration in Australia
Cuisine Magazine has secured ranging in the Woolworths supermarket chain in Australia to significantly grow its distribution in the Australian market.
There are over 700 Woolworths supermarkets throughout Australia and Cuisine will be sold in selected stores around the country from the next issue (on sale 22 February).
The expansion into Woolworths builds on an existing solid base of both retail and subscriptions sales in Australia.
In last year's Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards, Cuisine surpassed rival Australian food magazines, such as Donna Hay, Gourmet Traveller and Australia Vogue Entertaining & Travel along with many other international publications to be crowned the best food magazine in the world.
"Cuisine has long been the best food magazine in New Zealand," says general manager Fairfax Magazines Lynley Belton, "and now it's also recognised as the best food magazine in the world. This gives added weight to the brand and I am sure it helped secure this significant expansion into Woolworths in Australia.
"Cuisine has been retailing in Australia for some time however this listing will significantly grow our penetration in this hugely important market. The content of the magazine has an Australasian appeal and some of our key contributors, such as wine writer Ralph Kyte-Powell, are based in Australia and other areas of the magazine also explore Australian food and wine."
