Fanuary 2008 Ends On A High Note
Fanuary organiser Rebecca Harris is delighted at the response to the Fanuary campaign and cannot thank the supporters enough for their generosity and words of support. More than $7,600 has been raised so far.
“We’re really pleased, considering it was an unplanned event, when the opportunity to support women dealing with the trauma of gynecological cancers presented itself, we just jumped in boots ‘n all,” Rebecca says.
The money has been raised through collectors, donations via www.fanuary.co.nz, fundraising events, items auctioned on TradeMe and through registered supporters.
Entries for registered supporters have closed and winners of the prizes, donated by myjobspace.co.nz are;
Category Winner - Indonesian Rainforest Sloth. $1000 worth of prizes awarded to (registered user name) Muffy. Muffy has requested that her prize be donated to the campaign as her form of donation. “An extremely generous offer,” says Rebecca.
Category Winner – Artistic Freestyler. $1000 worth of prizes awarded to (registered user name) Seanymph. A popular category, with the wining entry by Seanymph being a colourful butterfly creation.
OVERALL WINNER. Grand prize also awarded to (registered user name) Seanymph.
Rebecca says “We have learnt a lot over the past month or so and will come back bigger, better and stronger for Fanuary 2009. We hope to simplify the processes and make it easier for people to support, register, and enter.
“From here it is onwards and upwards, we have plenty of work to do over the coming months, this is just the beginning,” Rebecca says. “We’re absolutely delighted at the positive response from supporters and wish Women for Women Charitable Trust every success and hope that Fanuary 08 has helped them along the way to achieving their goals.”
Women for Women Charitable trust trustee Marjan Golchin is very thankful for the event. “We want to thank the myjobspace.co.nz team, they did a very brave thing and it has been a great thing to do and we hope next year will go even better.” She also wants to thank those who entered and sends her best wishes to all the winners.
