Accor to Manage Iconic Fiji Hotel

MEDIA RELEASE
19 February 2007

Accor to Manage Iconic Fiji Hotel

Accor is to take over management of the iconic Raffles Tradewinds Hotel & Conference Centre on 11 March, a popular hotel in scenic Lami Bay, close to Fiji's capital city of Suva.

The hotel will then be renamed Tradewinds Hotel & Conference Centre and on completion of an extensive refurbishment and upgrade of the property in 2008, it will be rebranded as Novotel Capital Suva Hotel & Convention Centre. Novotel is the international 4 star business-class brand of the Accor group of hotels and resorts.

Accor Vice President New Zealand & Fiji, Paul Richardson says the management appointment of Tradewinds Hotel & Conference Centre brings an important addition to the group's global network.

"Accor is very focused on expanding our network in Fiji and throughout the Asia Pacific region, so bringing onboard a hotel in such a strategic position is an excellent opportunity. Tradewinds combines the traditional waterfront location that visitors to Fiji look for, but is also just 15 minutes drive to Suva centre. This location, combined with the extensive conference facilities, makes the hotel an excellent choice for business travellers and large corporate groups."

Accor currently operates three other hotels in the Fiji Islands: Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, on Denarau Island, Novotel Nadi (previously Mocambo) and Mercure Hotel Nadi. Accor has also been appointed to manage Walu Beach Resort from 29 February, which will be rebranded Mercure Resort Malolo Island following its refurbishment in 2008. Tradewinds will join Accor's expansive global network of more than 4,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries.

Just 15 minutes drive from Suva, Tradewinds is located directly on the beachfront in Lami Bay and has 108 guest rooms, each with either an ocean or a garden view. With five meeting rooms in a range of styles and sizes, the hotel is ideal for meetings, conferences and functions, and can hold up to 1000 delegates at a time. Guests can make use of the complimentary shuttle that runs to and from Suva, and there are plenty of water and leisure activities on offer when guests have some 'down time'.

Onsite facilities include a restaurant and bar, and a Senikai Day Spa will later be introduced.

Accor, the European leader and a major global group in hotels, the global leader in services to corporate clients and public institutions, operates in nearly 100 countries with 170,000 employees. It offers to its clients over 40 years of expertise in its two core businesses:
