10 April 2008: Harcourts has opened two new offices in the two booming south-western Christchurch suburbs of Hoon Hay and Halswell.

The new offices are co-owned by established Harcourts business owner Kevin McKay and his new business partner Rana Ransley, a former Harcourts sales consultant who has returned to the group after a number of years as a Ray White franchise owner.

The new Harcourts Halswell office in the Halswell Shopping Centre at 346 Halswell Rd was previously a Ray White office 100% owned by Ms Ransley. It has now been rebranded to Harcourts and is known as Halswell 2, to distinguish it from the original Harcourts office further down the road.

The pair’s other new office is located at 7 Halswell Rd, Hoon Hay. The large, newly refurbished open-plan office includes a purpose-built auction room and 18 metres of road frontage in a prime location on busy Halswell Road.

Harcourts New Zealand CEO Bryan Thomson says the new offices mean Harcourts can now better serve the busy and growing south-western suburbs of Christchurch.

“This is an increasingly popular area with a lot of new development underway. By having another office in Halswell and a new Hoon Hay office we are now well placed to respond to vendors and buyers in this part of the city,” he says.

Mr McKay says he is thrilled to have Ms Ransley back in the Harcourts Four Seasons Realty team. “When I was looking at restructuring and growing my business, having worked with Rana before, I knew she would be excellent to join forces with,” he says.

For her part Ms Ransley, who is managing the new Harcourts Hoon Hay office, says she is delighted to be back with Harcourts, which she says has the highest profile and largest market share in Christchurch along with “far superior” systems and support.

The Halswell 2 office is being managed by Kerry Luke. Four Seasons’ other Halswell office (Halswell 1), at 379 Halswell Rd is now being managed by Larry Scarr, formerly of both Bayleys and Remax.

Like Ms Ransley they both say they are enjoying the benefits of being part of the Harcourts group.

Meanwhile the former manager of Halswell 1, Bruce Newman, is now managing Harcourts Barrington, which Mr McKay recently sold to Harcourts Grenadier.
