Norfolk Air jets into Hamilton

Norfolk Air’s first charter flight will arrive in Hamilton On Thursday 17th of April at 1525

The first of Norfolk Air Charter flights between the beautiful island paradise of Norfolk Island and New Zealand’s fourth largest city Hamilton will arrive tomorrow in Hamilton at 1525 and will then depart for Norfolk Island at 1625. Norfolk Air is wholly owned by the Norfolk Island Government.

The two return flights using a Boeing 737 – 200 with 98 economies and 8 Bounty business class seats will operate on the 17th and 24th of April 2008.

The flights depart Norfolk Island at 1300 on each day arriving Hamilton at 1525 and then returning the same day to Norfolk Island at 1625 arriving at 1810.

Chief Executive of Norfolk Air, Ewan Wilson said “With the arrival of our flight tomorrow it will be the first new international carrier to touch down in Hamilton in nearly 11 years. Locals will be able to get great pictures of the distinctive 737-200 in Norfolk Air’s livery as the aircraft flies over the city and touches down in Hamilton. The flights out of Hamilton have an 80% load factor with Waikato residents flocking to Norfolk Island for a weeks holiday break, and I’m delighted to say we have more than one tonne of freight destined for Norfolk Island, bought locally in Hamilton. Which is great for the Waikato economy.”
