The CAANZ AXIS Awards honor the creative talents of the industry and are a celebration of the year’s most exciting and original ideas.

CAANZ President David Walden said ideas are the real currency of creativity and the generation of these idea have helped make New Zealand the envy of the advertising world.

“I know from my own experience that in some cases, applying these ideas sometimes takes a huge leap of faith and vision but believe me the rewards are enormous for all concerned when it comes off – put simply creative businesses are successful businesses”.

The People’s Choice award went to TBWA\Whybin and Plaza Films this year for it’s “Goldstein” television advertisement for ASB Bank. Advertiser of the Year was awarded to Sky TV.

Robber’s Dog Films won this year’s Production Company of the Year and the Industry Excellence Award was awarded to Len Cheeseman, of Len Cheeseman Consultancy, Wellington.

The Emerging Talent award, which acknowledges those who have recently entered the industry, was presented to Brett Colliver, James Tucker and Simon Vicars from DDB whose early work has already begun to gain attention in the industry.

“We all know that New Zealand punches above its weight globally when it comes to creativity. We want our award winning work to be truly world class and in doing so we have combined local and international judges in assessing entries”, said Mr. Walden
