SuperGold Card reaches 4000 business partners
SuperGold Card reaches 4000 business partners outlets
The Government's SuperGold Card programme now has more than 4000 business partner outlets offering a large range of discounts and concessions to over half a million New Zealanders. These 4000 business partner outlets represent 773 business partners who are contributing to the programme.
SuperGold Card business manager Neil Chave says there is very positive feedback from cardholders saying how much they value being able to use their card at local businesses. "Cardholders are reporting worthwhile savings on purchases when they use the SuperGold Card at one of more than 4000 outlets nationwide."
Cardholders are encouraged to visit the SuperGold
Card website www.supergold.govt.nz to search through the
full range of discounts and concessions now available for
cardholders. Cardholders are also encouraged to present
their cards where ever they see Cards Welcome stickers to
receive discounts and concessions. Launched in August 2007,
the SuperGold Card is a free discounts and concessions card
available to all New Zealand residents who are 65 and older,
or who otherwise receive New Zealand Superannuation or a
Veteran's Pension. The card aims to recognise the
contribution New Zealand's seniors have made, and continue
to make to New Zealand society by providing discounts on a
wide range of everyday goods and services. The SuperGold
Card replaces the Community Services Card and former New
Zealand Super Card for eligible cardholders to allow for
easier access to central and local government entitlements.
There are two versions of the card one is an "S-branded" SuperGold Card and a special "V-branded" Veteran SuperGold Card. As new business partners join the SuperGold Card their details are added to the SuperGold Card website www.supergold.govt.nz. These business partners join an impressive list of New Zealand businesses already offering discounted services and products to cardholders. The list includes some of New Zealand's biggest business names for example Westpac, Kiwibank, TSB, SSB, TelstraClear, State Insurance, Sovereign 50 Plus Insurance, Big Save Furniture, Emirates Airlines, Carters, Resene, Guthrie Bowron, New World (Lower North Island), Ray White Real Estate, Public Trust, Mad Butcher, House of Travel, The National Bank, Valentines Restaurants and McDonalds. One SuperGold Card business partner, Thrifty Car Rental has noticed that SuperGold Card holders have been making the most of the 10 percent off best rate of the day-direct bookings, discounts on airport/ferry pickup fees and discounted excess reduction insurance with nil excess that Thrifty offers card holders.
Thrifty Car Rental National Sales and Marketing Manager Nicki Sare says the response to joining as a business partner has been great. "We have received an outstanding response from Super Gold cardholders since becoming a Business Partner. We have had over 300 rentals from cardholders since the launch of Super Gold. Thrifty Car Rental is very happy to support the card and be supported by card holders."
