Mediaworks NZ Renews Contract With 20th Century Fox Television Distribution
Following this year’s television industry programme screenings held last week in Los Angeles, MediaWorks NZ has successfully concluded negotiations to renew its programming arrangement with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution (Fox).
The negotiation is an extension of a relationship which was originally contracted between the parties in 2000.
The programming arrangement will provide content for MediaWorks’ free-to-air channels TV3 and C4.
“This renewal of our Fox contract is great news for TV3, C4 and all our viewers. Hit TV3 shows such as Boston Legal, Bones, Prison Break, My Name is Earl and The Simpsons are all part of this relationship,” said Director of Programming, Kelly Martin.
“We also have a range of feature films tied into this arrangement, including box office hit titles such as Die Hard 4, Juno, The Simpsons Movie and Fantastic 4.
“Our second channel, C4, also benefits with renewal on popular animation shows Family Guy and King of The Hill,” Ms Martin said.
“We have an excellent relationship with the team at Fox, and we look forward to working even more closely with them in the years ahead,” she said.
Richard Samuels, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Fox commented, “TV3 has enjoyed enormous success with many of our signature shows over the past eight years and with an exciting new slate of both series and feature films we anticipate continuing to deliver a compelling and diverse mix of programming in the years ahead. Our partnership with TV3 and C4 has always been extremely strong and collaborative and everyone at Fox looks forward to building on the firm foundations of this relationship.”
The terms of the renewal remain confidential to both parties.
