Meridian supports Dairy Women’s Network
Power retailer and generator Meridian has become a partner and sponsor of the Dairy Women’s Network – the national organisation dedicated to supporting the professional development of dairy women.
“We see a natural fit between the way we do business at Meridian and the passion and vision of the Dairy Women’s Network,” says Chris Bristol of Meridian.
“Meridian’s dairy farming customers are growing in number as a result of our rural services customer team, natural growth, as well partnerships through a number of rural supply companies.”
Lynda Clark, General Manager of the Dairy Women’s Network, says the partnership is of huge value and there is a lot of scope for Meridian to work alongside dairying women and provide additional support.
“Dairying women are often responsible for farm budgets, as well as being very environmentally aware, and it makes sense to help them with energy efficiency and conservation ideas,” says Lynda Clark.
“The Dairy Women’s Network has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, a significant milestone, and we are looking forward to the next decade with Meridian as a new partner and sponsor.”
Chris Bristol says Meridian has the resources and the expertise to help its rural customers make better use of power.
“The rural sector, and in particular dairying, is becoming an increasing focus for Meridian as the sector continues to grow and drive economic growth in the wider economy.”
“Meridian has been involved in dairy-farm energy efficiency for some time and has trialled a number of innovative techniques on its own dairy farm in the Waitaki region.
“Although power is not at the top of a typical dairy farm’s input costs finding ways to reduce costs and become more efficient simply makes sense.
